CLUB AND COMPETITION RULES FROM AGM 2006
1. All fish entered for specimen trophies must be weighed on match scales held by the match secretary (currently Nigel Hewes).or Ian Moore.
2. If two or more members weigh in specimen fish of identical weights on different
days, the trophy will be awarded to the captor of the first fish to be weighed
in. Where fish of identical weight are caught on the same day overall length
shall determine the winner.
3. Once a competition has commenced, the finishing time may only be altered
if the match secretary judges that the weather turns to a dangerous level.
4. Disputes over the weight of a catch must be registered with the scales man
at the weigh in. once the weigh in has completed the results cannot be changed.
5. No competitor may fish with more than two rods at a time a maximum of 3 hooks
per rod are allowed a treble counting as 3 hooks.
6. The start and finish times of competitions will be agreed at the previous
meeting.
7. The points match trophy will be based on the best 8 results out of 12 .In
the event of a tie, the winner will be the member with the highest overall weight
from the matches upon which the final points total was based.
8. All boats fishing a competition must be equipped with a C B radio in working
order and must maintain regular contact with other boats. Giving your position
is a main safety factor.
9. Club competitions and specimen fish are limited to venues between Southend
pier and Yarmouth pier. Only fish caught from boats with a maximum length of
17 ft 6 inches may be entered. No boat is allowed to fish a competition or register
a specimen fish that is further out than the Spit Buoy off of Frinton, a short
way past the Gun Fleet Sands.
10. Boats to be back on beach at specified time where weigh in will follow as
soon as possible.
11. A minimum of 3 boats are required before a competition will be classed as
valid.
12. Any fish weighed in at a club competition must conform with fish sizes agreed
by the club and as indicated on the marker boards.
13. Cancelled competitions will be decided by the match secretary no later than
1-30 pm the previous day. All members are to keep in touch with the match secretary
on all aspects of a competition.
14. All boats fishing a competition must have valid insurance minimum of 3rd
party, certificates to be shown to match secretary .
